Tristan's 9 mth check up

Well Tristan had his 9 mth well baby check up yesterday and it went well. Weight: 17lbs 8 oz, not what I thought considering he has little budha belly, but he is still in the 10th percentile for his weight. Length: 27 in and is approx in the 20th percentile Head circumference: 17 in and in the 5th percentile. I was very surprised about the results of his check up but his doctor was not worried so I am ok. We have been having a hard time getting Tristan to eat texture foods so I think this is going to be a challenge for us in getting his weight up. When I told his doctor what he does with textured foods, she said he is going to be one of those picky eater babies! Oh no! He is going to be just like his dad was when he was younger. She just told us to load up on the calories on the table foods that he does eat since his weight is down there. Hopefully this will help. I guess we have to load the potatoes with butter and sour cream since we know he will eat that! She also suggested that we put him in his high chair and lay finger food out in front of him and let him feed himself to find the textures he likes. Has anyone else had problems with this before? Any suggestions out there on how I can get Tristan used to table food instead of baby food?

I think most babies go through a time where they don't like certain things or textures. He's so cute and he doesn't look unhealthy to me. I wouldn't worry. I'm going to put pictures up tonight probably so check them out soon. And call me to chat or something :)

Hey Stacy, I'm glad you found our blog. Rylee is a very picky eater, she has gotten better, but is better than she use to. One of her favrites, and something I know she'll always eat in mac and cheese. I started feeding her that when she was about 10 months, I'd make it with formula instead of real milk and she loved it! Noodles are something that are easy for them to eat if their gums are hurting or whatever! So there is my advice, good luck!
